Patriots fans may have to brush up on their spelling skills.

According to Ian Rappaport the Patriots are set to hold a workout with veteran receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Rappaport brings up an interesting tidbit:

The 33-year-old, who last played for the Ravens, used to tag-team with Chad Ochocinco for years in Cincinnati. Could they team up again? That depends on how he looks tomorrow.

While reporters would certainly love the human-interest angle, we’re not sure how much Houshmandzadeh has left in the tank to offer New England.

He is primarily a possession receiver (11.5 yard career average) on a team already stocked with two good possession receivers: Chad Ochocinco and Deion Branch.

If they are kicking the tires and updating their emergency lists in case of injury, this move makes sense. Otherwise, we’d be surprised to see him make the team.

On the other side of the ball, the Patriots are also set to work out free safety veterans Darren Sharper and Renaldo Hill.

Sharper spent time with the Packers, Vikings, and Saints – totaling 63 interceptions in his storied 14-year career.

10-year veteran Hill has racked up 16 interceptions and 65 pass-deflections during his time with the Cardinals, Raiders, Dolphins, and Broncos.
